12 Easy and All Natural Ways to Detox your body

Are you feeling a bit run down lately?
 Looking for a mood adjustment?
Been sick and ready to feel better?
Ready to jump start a diet?

If you answered yes to any of these...you may be ready for a detox!

Detoxing is a word that used to be used in extreme cases but now, you are hearing about it everywhere. I attribute this to an increase in the health and wellness community as well as the increase in the amount of chemicals in our foods and systems. You see, we come in contact with chemicals and compounds daily that our bodies simply weren't designed to handle as easily as others. The goods news is that you can help!

Homemade Chocolate Mocha Body Scrub - and 4 other recipes

I recently found a jar of amazing chocolate body scrub-it smelled so good that I thought I could eat it. Then I flipped over the jar and found the ingredient list. After reading,  I found that not only should I NOT eat it....I really shouldn't even be putting it on my skin! It was filled with chemicals that I couldn't even pronounce and not even the chocolate in it was real.

BUT MY VERSION IS TOTALLY ORGANIC! Plus, it uses ingredients you probably already have in your pantry!
Now, I can have my body scrub and eat it too!

UPDATED LIST OF 20 PAID SURVEY SITES!

ImageI wanted to take a few minutes to update my list of PAYING Survey sites!

Making money with Online Surveys is one of the most asked about topics when talking about how to make money online. There are hundreds of thousands of sites promising to make you RICH if you simply pay $49.95 for their list of survey sites...NEVER PAY for this information! If you simply do an internet search for these types of sites, you will get thousands of results. You will also see tons of reviews directing you to either sign in and make money or to stay clear. How do you know who to trust??

DIY Chocolate Body Paint - Fun for Vegans too!

Okay...I KNOW that this is NOT my typical post. For those of you who don't come to the site often,  I am usually all about organic lifestyles and frugal living but sometimes even I stray into the bizarre! Thank goodness my mom does not read my blog (no joke...she has never been to it and doesn't know the address anyway) and while I am at it - big apology to my mother-in-law who reads religiously. PS. M-I-L...I love you but you may want to stop reading now....

What's your style BLOGHOP!

I am so excited today to be a part of the "What's your Style?" Bloghop!

My girl Brittnei didn't see too many places where bloggers who write about fashion, beauty, hair, design and decor can go and show off their style so that's how she came up with the name for the blog hop.  It's  a place where creative minds could come together, share tips, experiences, gain more followers and make new blogger buddies.

DIY Weight Loss Wraps!

The train of weight loss programs, supplements, and gizmos will never end. One of these such gizmos is the "it works" weight loss wrap. Have I tried the "it works" wrap? Sure have. I will honestly say that I did like the results of the it works wrap but the price was a bit too much for me to sustain on a constant basis. The true program advises that you do the wrap a few times a week for best results and at $25 a wrap....it's a small fortune to wrap only one body area.

So...I decided to make my own weight loss wraps. I was pleasantly surprised that they WORKED!

Beginner's Tips for Eating Healthy!

I am quickly realizing that this is a post that I should have done long ago. You see, my family and I began a healthy eating journey almost a year ago and made the transition seamlessly. We began by eliminating as many prepackaged foods as we could, ditched chemical laden foods and opted for organic, and I even got my husband to adopt a 98% vegetarian lifestyle (I have been a vegetarian for 6 years now). What I forgot to realize is that the transition to "healthy eating" may not be as easy for everyone- Routines and habits are hard to break! It is also difficult to encourage people to see the benefits of what eating healthy can do for you -when it may take a few weeks to see the results (sound familiar?!?).

So....I thought I would break down some of the tips that I have for Beginners! Don't worry, these aren't about what to buy or what to eat....it is about HOW TO MAKE THIS A LIFESTYLE!

OKAY...Maybe some of you can BUT I CAN NOT!!! That's why this hop is for me--I mean US!

Healthy & Easy Black Bean Soup Recipe

As a vegetarian, it is important that I work protein into my meals whenever I can which is why protein packed legumes like Black Beans are a staple in my home. Regardless of their nutritional value, having a family of 5 kids makes it vital that these beans are hidden and made in a fun and interesting way or they won't be eaten. So far, I have won the kids  over with black bean brownies, black bean cookies, sausage made with garbanzo beans, and other creative goodies - now I can add this amazing soup to the list.

I have two different ways of making this soup. One of the recipes is a 2 ingredient "quick cook" recipe while the original recipe takes a few more ingredients and a little more cooking time.  I ALWAYS make this soup in a large batch because it can be used in tons of ways throughout the week. Try it:  as a soup; served atop nachos; drizzled on hotdogs; served as a taco salad; and even as a yummy dip for flatbreads!

EASY HOMEMADE ALMOND BUTTER!

Hello, my name is Heather, and I am an almond butter..ADDICT! Okay, maybe there isn't a group for people addicted to almond butter BUT, if there were, I would need a seat and a doughnut (also an addiction).

So, you now may be asking WHY I am addicted to almond butter. The main reason is that it contains amazing health benefits! It is Naturally rich in Vitamin E and magnesium and offers more calcium, fiber, potassium, and iron than traditional peanut butter. It does ALL of this and with less saturated fat :)! It also doesn't hurt that Almond Butter is so versatile! You can use it as a dip, just as peanut butter, or even in a gourmet tasting FROSTING!

Crowdfunding and Fundraising made Easy and FUN! Try Teespring

School is back in session for the kids which usually means TONS of fundraisers! My kids are constantly bringing home flyers for bake sales, candy bar fundraisers, magazine sales contests, spirit wear sales...heck, my kids school even sells groceries to raise money! None of these are very rewarding as I am not the best baker, try to avoid junk food, get my information from the internet, only eat organically, and honestly could care less about going door to door to sell anything (sorry...maybe I am a mean mom but it is dangerous!:). This means, every year, I am forced to buy whatever they are selling and either look at it on the shelf or re-gift it so my kids can have the coveted "high seller pencil set" that I could have bought for $5 at Target!

I KNEW that there had to be a better way to raise money for groups.

This is where Teespring comes in. I can honestly say that Teespring is AMAZING. Not only do they provide you with a fun and exciting fundraiser, they do all of the work for you! Simply log in to Teespring and Launch a campaign. Once there, you will design your own custom tee shirt which will become available on the site for sale. People will log in and purchase your shirts directly from the site- no direct selling! You never have to worry about selling, cash handling, shipping, merchandise handling, or INVENTORY! TeeSpring only makes the products that are ordered leaving you with no extra costs or added fees.

Have no fear- Teespring helps groups of all sizes!

Check out these awesome designs and stats of previous fundraisers.

A couple sold this "Love makes a family shirt" to raise money to adopt. It is so cute!

http://teespring.com/chrisandshelleyadopt

Another fundraiser included children's and toddler's shirts to raise money for an 11-year-old to sing in a children's choir in Hungary: https://teespring.com/bunnygirlsings.

Another group chose to raise funds for the City of Boston. They raised over 85k for Boston relief with this tee: http://teespring.com/staystrongboston

Are you sold on this amazing way to do fundraising?

Here's how to get started:

  1. Log into Teespring and design your custom tee shirt. There are TONS of cool fonts and artwork so you will have a lot to play with when designing your personal brand. You will also get your price as you design and will be able to set your own price for your customers.
  2. Next, set your GOAL.  This is the minimum number of shirts that you need to have ordered before the order is even started. It is FREE for your customers to pre-order. Nothing is billed or charged until you reach your goal!
  3. Now, add your Title and Description for your creation and get to promoting! You can share via social media, word of mouth, posters, however you do it best!
  4. Teespring prints the order when it hits the goal and send you a FAT check for the profit! Easy enough...right?
  5. Don't worry, you can continue to sell past your goal! Teespring will still send you the profit!
Set your goal as low as 20 shirts and start selling!

So...next time you are at a PTA meeting, band practice, church function, or even a family event and someone mentions fundraising....tell them about Teespring! It will save you time, money, and energy- AND will be an easy and EXCITING way to raise money!

I was compensated for this post by an amazing company providing an easy and exciting alternative to traditional fundraising. All the opinions and enthusiasm expressed are solely mine and not for sale. I will never promote nor stand for a company with which I do not believe in.
